Mermaids ... by Dianne Mayne Forche

This is the ultra light sculpey and wire armature used in the mermaid pictured below.

Her final polymer clay skin layer is on, sanded, and painted with Genesis heat set oil paints with mokume cane slices applied on her lower body and matching tail fin.  This cane was made with multiple layers of colored clay, translucent clay, and gold leaf.   A sprinkling of shades of green sea glass have been added along her tail fin and around her arm for added reflection and sparkle. She is about 9 inches tall including her removeable base.
